Who We Are and What These Terms Cover

Varsity Page is the fan-facing website and app where fans, families and communities follow school teams, clubs and organizations. It is operated by Varsity Page LLC (“Varsity Page,” “we,” “us”). Varsity Page LLC also operates VP Core, the separate administrative product that schools and other organizations use to publish their information to Varsity Page.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Varsity Page LLC about your use of the Varsity Page website, app and related features (the “Service”). By browsing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to fans, families, visitors and other individual users. They do not govern a school’s or organization’s subscription to VP Core. That relationship is covered by the separate school and organization terms published at https://www.vp-core.com/terms, and nothing in these Terms changes it.

Other documents also apply and are part of these Terms: the Privacy Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Cookie Policy. A contest or giveaway may also have its own Official Rules, which control that contest.

Who May Use Varsity Page

  • Browsing. Anyone may browse public pages without an account.
  • Accounts. You must be at least 13 years old to create a Varsity Page account or to sign in with a third-party account such as Google.
  • Contests. You must be at least 13 years old to enter a contest or giveaway yourself. A contest’s Official Rules may set a higher age or other eligibility requirements. Younger fans may not enter directly.
  • Guest sessions. Some features let you continue as a guest. Guest sessions are for browsing and limited features; features that require an account will ask you to create one.

If you are under 18, please review these Terms with a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 created an account or submitted information, contact privacy@varsitypage.com and we will help remove it.

Your Account

You agree to give accurate information when you create an account, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us promptly at support@varsitypage.com if you think someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not impersonate a school, student, coach, staff member, sponsor or anyone else, or misstate your relationship with any of them.

You may delete your account from your account settings at any time.

School-Authorized Content

Schools, clubs, camps and other organizations use VP Core to supply and authorize the public information shown on Varsity Page, such as rosters, photos, schedules, scores, statistics, team and organization details, sponsors and announcements (“school-authorized content”).

  • Varsity Page is not a school, school district or athletic association, and it is not the source of truth for school-entered facts. Each school is responsible for what it chooses to publish, for obtaining any permissions or releases it needs, and for the routine accuracy of its information.
  • Schools can control publication through VP Core, including hiding specific students, teams or the school’s page. Not every individual field has its own separate setting.
  • School-authorized content is different from information you submit directly to us, such as your account profile, contest entries, parent ad inquiries, notification choices, support requests and AI chat messages. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle each.

Corrections and Removal Requests

If you see something on a school page that is wrong or that you believe should be removed, you can contact the school or email support@varsitypage.com. The school decides ordinary corrections and publication choices, and our support team can help the school make changes in VP Core. We may also hide or remove content right away, without waiting for the school, when we believe it is needed for safety, privacy, legal or platform-integrity reasons.

Content You Submit

“Your content” means anything you submit to the Service, such as your profile name, photo, banner and bio, photos you add to albums, parent ad inquiries and images, messages, and AI chat messages and attachments.

  • You keep ownership of your content.
  • You give Varsity Page LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, copy, reformat, resize, display and distribute your content only as needed to operate, provide and improve the Service and the features you use, and to share it with the school or organization it relates to when the feature you use is designed to do that. This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or that were already shared as part of the feature you used.
  • This license does not let us use your content, or any student’s name or likeness in it, in our advertising or marketing outside the Service without separate written permission.
  • You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content, including permission from anyone who appears in it (and from a parent or guardian for a minor), and that it follows these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.

Content must be lawful, non-explicit, non-harassing, non-infringing and appropriate for a school community. We may review, decline, edit for format, hide or remove content that does not meet these standards or that we reasonably believe creates risk for students, schools or other users.

Parent Ads

Parent ads are celebratory or promotional messages that families and supporters ask to place on a school or student page. When you submit a parent ad inquiry, you are asking the school’s Varsity Page team to follow up with you; submitting it does not purchase or guarantee a placement. Any pricing, payment and placement terms are provided separately before anything is published.

Parent ads are your content, not school-authorized content. They are subject to review, formatting, rejection and removal. Only include a student’s name, photo or other information if you are that student’s parent or guardian, or have that parent’s or guardian’s permission.

Contests and Giveaways

Schools and their sponsors may offer contests and giveaways on Varsity Page.

  • Official Rules control. A contest may publish its own Official Rules setting who runs and sponsors it, who is eligible, where and when you can enter, the prize, any tax obligations, how winners are selected and notified, and how prizes are delivered. If these Terms and a contest’s Official Rules conflict about that contest, the Official Rules control.
  • Default Contest Rules. If a contest does not publish its own Official Rules, the Default Contest Rules below are its rules. They also cover any topic a contest’s own Official Rules do not address.
  • No purchase necessary. No purchase or payment is required to enter or win.
  • Account and age. Entering requires a Varsity Page account, which includes an email address. You must be at least 13 years old, or older if a contest’s Official Rules require.
  • Who runs it. Unless a contest’s Official Rules say otherwise, the school or its sponsor runs the contest, approves its rules, chooses when the drawing happens, and provides the prize. Varsity Page LLC provides the technology that makes the contest interactive and does not choose prizes or fulfill them.
  • Location checks. Some contests ask your device to confirm that you are at a venue. The Privacy Policy explains how location is used.
  • Fair play. Do not create multiple accounts, use automation, falsify your location or otherwise manipulate a contest. We and the contest organizer may disqualify entries that break these Terms or the contest’s rules.

Default Contest Rules

These Default Contest Rules apply to every contest or giveaway on Varsity Page that does not publish its own Official Rules. Where a contest does publish Official Rules, those rules control and these Default Contest Rules apply only to topics they do not address.

  1. Who offers the contest. The contest is offered by the school or organization on whose Varsity Page it appears, together with any sponsor named in the contest. The prize is provided by the school or the sponsor. Prize details, including how and when a prize can be redeemed, are typically subject to the school’s agreement with its sponsor.
  2. Varsity Page’s role. Varsity Page LLC only provides the technical tools that make the giveaway interactive, such as the entry button, optional venue location checks, the live drawing display and claim codes. Varsity Page LLC is not the sponsor, does not choose or provide the prize, and does not fulfill prizes.
  3. No purchase necessary. No purchase or payment is required to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law.
  4. Eligibility. You must have a Varsity Page account and be at least 13 years old. The contest page may state additional requirements, such as being at the venue.
  5. How to enter. Enter with the button on the contest page while entry is open, as shown on that page. One entry per person; additional entries are ignored.
  6. Drawing. The school starts the drawing at the time it chooses, and the winner is drawn from eligible entries. The winner may be announced in the app and at the event, including by display name.
  7. Winner notification and redemption. The winner is notified in Varsity Page and sent redemption instructions explaining how to claim the prize. The winner may need to accept the prize terms shown in those instructions before a claim code is revealed.
  8. Redemption period and forfeiture. The prize must be redeemed within the period stated in the winner’s redemption instructions. A prize that is not redeemed within that period may be forfeited, as provided by the school’s arrangement with the sponsor.
  9. Prizes. The prize is as described on the contest page and in the redemption instructions. Any substitution, cash alternative or transfer is at the discretion of the school or sponsor. The winner is responsible for any taxes that apply to the prize.
  10. Disqualification and changes. The school or sponsor, or Varsity Page LLC for platform-integrity reasons, may disqualify entries that break these rules or the Acceptable Use Policy. If a contest cannot run as planned, for example because of a technical problem or a cancelled event, the school may cancel, pause or reschedule it.
  11. Privacy. Information collected through a contest is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
  12. Questions. Ask the school running the contest, or email support@varsitypage.com.

AI Features

Some features use artificial intelligence, such as an AI chat assistant. Where an AI feature is available:

  • Its answers are generated automatically and may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. They are not official statements of any school, and they are not legal, medical, safety or emergency advice. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
  • Do not submit sensitive personal information about yourself or others, including information about students, that you do not want processed by the feature.
  • How your messages are processed, including by third-party AI providers, is described in the Privacy Policy.

Notifications

The Service may show you notifications, for example about teams you follow, schedule changes or contests. You can manage your notification preferences in your account. We do not guarantee that any notification will be delivered, or delivered at a particular time, and you should not rely on notifications for time-sensitive or safety information.

Sponsors, Advertising, and Third-Party Services

  • Sponsors. Sponsor messages and offers are provided by schools and their sponsors. The sponsor and the school are responsible for the accuracy and legality of sponsor claims, discounts and promotions. Varsity Page LLC does not guarantee any sponsor’s products, services or offers.
  • Third-party services. The Service links to or embeds services we do not control, such as maps and directions, highlight and video sites, ticketing, social networks, payment services and sponsor websites. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and Varsity Page LLC is not responsible for them.

Acceptable Use

You agree to follow the Acceptable Use Policy, which explains what is not allowed on Varsity Page, including harassment, impersonation, content that exploits minors, contest manipulation, scraping and interfering with the Service.

Intellectual Property

Varsity Page LLC owns the Service, including its software, design, and the Varsity Page and VP Core names and logos. Schools, families, fans and sponsors keep the rights they have in their own content. Except for your own content, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or create derivative works from the Service or its content except as these Terms allow or the content owner permits. You may share links to public pages.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, email legal@varsitypage.com with a description of the work, where it appears on the Service, and your contact information.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or end your access to all or part of the Service, or remove content, if you break these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if we must do so to comply with the law, or if your use creates risk for students, schools, other users or the Service. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you why. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

Restricting or closing an individual account does not change any school’s or organization’s separate VP Core agreement with us. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and dispute resolution, survive.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available. Among other things, the Service can be affected by maintenance, outages at third-party providers, network connectivity, your device, errors in school-authorized content, external links, notification delays, AI output, sponsor offers and contest administration by others, and events outside our reasonable control. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow these disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • Varsity Page LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenue, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms.
  • Varsity Page LLC’s total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid directly to Varsity Page LLC for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $100.

These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, and they do not limit any consumer right that cannot be waived by contract.

Your Responsibility for Your Submissions

You are responsible for your content and your use of the Service. If your content or conduct breaks the law or these Terms and causes harm, you are responsible for that harm to the extent the law provides. This section does not require you to defend or reimburse Varsity Page LLC beyond what the law otherwise requires.

Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes are resolved.

Informal Resolution First

Before starting an arbitration or court case, you and Varsity Page LLC each agree to send the other a written notice describing the dispute and the relief requested, and to try in good faith to resolve it for at least 30 days. Send your notice to legal@varsitypage.com with your name, the email address on your account (if any) and a description of the dispute.

Agreement to Arbitrate

If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, you and Varsity Page LLC agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could award. Fees are allocated as the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules provide.

Exceptions

Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Either party may also ask a court for an order to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

Class Action Waiver

To the extent permitted by law, you and Varsity Page LLC agree that claims will be brought only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding.

Location and Hearings

Unless the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules or applicable consumer law provide otherwise, any in-person hearing will take place in Guadalupe County, Texas. You may ask for the arbitration to be conducted by telephone, video or written submissions, or in the county where you live, as the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules and applicable law allow.

Non-Waivable Rights

Nothing in these Terms takes away a consumer right that the law where you live does not allow to be waived or changed by contract. If any part of this section is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim will proceed in court on an individual basis, and the rest of this section will still apply.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, including the Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the place you live requires otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Each version has a version number and effective date, and earlier versions remain available in our legal center. If a change is material, we will give reasonable notice through the Service before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a new version takes effect, the new version applies. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and you may delete your account.

General Terms

These Terms, together with the documents they reference, are the entire agreement between you and Varsity Page LLC about the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. The headings and the plain-language summary are for convenience and do not change the meaning of these Terms.
